My own personal experience of many financial websites, banks and financial advisors left a lot to be desired. I’m sure most of us have had the slick tongued response to perfectly normal enquiries, which leaves us baffled and feeling inadequate. I’m sure those financial types mean well, and know what they are talking about, but like it or not we are at their mercy.
We have two options to reverse this situation. First, we could spend many hours studying financial products, asking questions and hopefully gaining a better understanding of all the available products. Second, and my favourite option, we can glean a better general understanding of how the financial world goes around. That way, you will have the base knowledge and confidence to ask questions that matter, and the ability to relate them to the two things that matter in any deal – your welfare and the banks welfare!
The site has a dual purpose, i.e. to give visitors access to financial products and services they require whilst giving them the opportunity to become more familiar with the mechanisms of the financial market. To fulfil the first purpose, financial products, tools, data and services have been secured by collaborations with a number of well-known players in the financial market. As a result, we are confident that our information is current and accurate. The second purpose, which I believe makes the site unique, is to provide a market context in which the surfer is about to interact.
The author is a MBA graduate, and has drawn on his own knowledge and many web sources to provide this information. It is presented in a light, fast and simplified fashion, and is intended to provide insight to the novice and financially savvy alike.
Finally, we have 3 recommendations for everyone (except those of you who don’t use money)..
- first, read the descriptions of the various products, services and activities of the financial markets on the pages of moneyowl.co.uk, and enjoy the learning aspect of the site.
- second, ask questions, and make recommendations where you think appropriate.
- third, remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch!
